Where It Started

I became a lawyer because I believe justice denied is justice lost, and that everyone has a right to obtain it.

I was born in Cuba under a dictatorship, where we had no rights and no legal recourse. My family made the courageous decision to flee by boat, choosing freedom over authoritarianism.

Education

I grew up in Florida after arriving from Cuba, completing my associate's degree at Miami Dade College in one year, then earning my bachelor's degree in political science, with a minor in philosophy, from Florida International University. I went on to Ave Maria School of Law, graduating as one of the youngest in my class.

The Turning Point

Early in my career, I worked for firms that defended major insurance companies. That experience gave me a firsthand, inside view of how those companies operate — and how often they prioritize profit over people. I knew I couldn't spend my career defending that. So I chose to represent the people insurance companies are up against, using what I learned on the defense side to give my clients the advantage.

Who I Am Today

I'm fluent in English and Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese, which allows me to connect directly with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. Having traveled to 45 countries, I've come to understand and respect cultural nuances that many others miss — something that shapes how I listen to and advocate for every client, regardless of where they're from.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me with my family, at the beach, or traveling. I also love to snowboard, surf, and scuba dive whenever I get the chance.
